Cards, cards, cards....
For as long as I can remember, my family has had an obsession with sending cards and letters. Relatives lived far away and long distance telephone call were costly. So the most common forms of communication were cards and letters: Birthdays, Easter, Halloween, St. Patrick's Day, to wish you well or cheer you up.
When the children were young, we made cards for special occasions using construction paper; scissors, glue, and anything else for decoration. As they grew up they became involved in other projects and the cards fell by the wayside.
